First Card of 2016

Posted On: 10. 01. 16

What was your first card of 2016?  My 5 year old son and I created this card for his sweet little bestie who turned 6 not long after the beginning of the new year.  My son loves to sit with me and scroll through Pinterest and look at Punch Art Cards.  He is obsessed and always is asking, “Do you own that punch Mom?”  (The answer is usually, Yes!) Then he responds, “Yes, that means we can make it.”  He really is totally adorable and you can see a picture of him on my Stamping.Cards pinterest page, I photobombed him on his birthday last year.  LOL

Here is what we came up with after some huge Pinterest Inspiration.DoggieHDay6

I loved it so much,  I made a second one, to keep and display.  Happy 6th Birthday C-man!!!

The number and stamp on the card are from our brand new product suite: Number of Years Bundle – $60.25 (stamps and framelits at 15% off). It was one of the first products, I had to have from the new Occasions Catalogue.

Happy Stamping!  Inspire, Create and Share!

Hello You Thinlits Card

Posted On: 14. 09. 15

It may seem like I have been on a bit of an anti stamping binge lately, but the truth is that I have been outside enjoying summer and when I did come in to stamp, I wanted to complete my projects quickly. I am playing catch up with you all here, so that you can see what I was creating over the summer months.  Not much time to blog when the kiddos (and I) wanted to go to the beach.  I did still teach classes over the summer and most of the cards you will see in the next few blog posts will be about those cards.

Hello You Thinlits

It is a rainy fall day here and my hubby took the kids to go ice skating, for real!! It was a quick transition to winter sports for my family. LOL Our youngest is starting to play hockey in a month or so and we want to make sure his skating skills are on point.  We have a terrific wellness centre in this area and we take full advantage of it .

On to my Hello You thinlit card.  Isn’t it cute?  The Hello You thinlits are a set of three words; hello, thanks and you, that you use with your Big Shot.  They also coordinate with the Crazy About You stamp set – also available in wood mount and photopolymer.  I chose to use the Papillion Potpourri stamp set and stamp a butterfly repeated on on the background paper in Basic Black ink. I am using some Irresistibly Yours paper that is retired, but you can get the same effect with the Colour Me Irresistible Designer Series Paper.

I then sponged Pink Pirouette ink all over the background paper to soften the black butterflies and to colour the paper, as it was originally white.

I added a strip of White Satin Ribbon, punched out a Bitty Butterfly and an Elegant Butterfly and  layered them together, with Pearls as an embellishment on the body of the butterfly.

Cardstocks used are: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black and you can substitute the Colour Me Irresistible as your background paper.

Designer Series Paper Purse / Tote

Posted On: 13. 09. 15

I recently taught a class on how to make a super cute Designer Series Paper (DSP) Purse.  We filled them with chocolate treats, a matching pen, a covered journal, a package of tissues, a small pad of sticky notes and a set of matching greeting cards.

Designer Series Paper Purse - Real Red

Each tote bag measures approx. 9.5″ high (including the handles), 6″ to the top of the actual bag and 7″ x 3″ around. These are hefty and you can stuff a lot more things in them than you can possibly imagine. We used a lot of retired DSP, ribbon and brads that I had in my crafter’s hoard.  Don’t judge me, I know you have one too.  😉

Basic tools you will need to make the Designer Series Paper Purse are a paper trimmer,  a simply scored scoring tool, a handheld scallop punch, a strong adhesive like tear tape, a paper piercing tool, a corner rounder punch and a stampin’ pierce mat.

The journal was created by purchasing a generic small paper notebook at the $Store.  The size of your journal will determine the size of the card stock required to cover it.  I stamped my own cover by stamping a small flower image from the Petite Petal stamp set and embellishing with ribbon, a small flower and rhinestone, plus a sentiment.

The fun thing about this project was that everyone went home with a completely different project, as each person chose a different colour for the base and coordinating DSP.

I have all the directions on a Word document.  If you would like a copy, you will receive it free, via email, with a $35 dollar purchase from my online store.  Just be sure to sign in and choose me as your demonstrator. Thanks and happy shopping!

Bird Builder Punch

Posted On: 30. 03. 15

I can’t tell you how long the Bird Builder Punbirdpunchch has been sitting on my shelf, before I used it.  Hmmm, too, too long, I can tell you that much.  Look at how cute these little birds are! Adorable! Right?!  These cards came from a punch art class I ran recently and showcases how versatile one punch can be.  My favourite is the love you more than chocolate card.

The tulip card uses the ‘wing’ as petals. Wouldn’t that make a beautiful Mother’s Day card!  Or a terrific Easter Card.

Quick Tip: Use a sponge dauber to add ink to the edge of the punched piece to add shading and depth.  It makes a world of difference to your finished card.

The Love You More than Chocolate card, I heat embossed a feather stamped from the Four Feathers stamp set bundle, then punched part of the image out with the bird punch. Added a die cut feather, some Epic Day washi tape and one more feather stamp for the focal point. The sentiment is from the Lovely Amazing You stamp set.

Remember to keep creating, sharing and inspiring! Happy Monday!

Lotus Blossom – 3 Week Count Down to End of Sale-a-bration

Posted On: 10. 03. 15

Yikes! It has been too long since I have been here blogging and sharing with you all.  Sorry for that.  Life seems to be on fast forward these days.  I just realized that Sale-a-bration is on fast forward as well and is ending in 3 short weeks.  Double Yikes!!!

So, to celebrate Sale-a-bration, here is a card to say Thank You, to all of my wonderful customers and fellow card makers for sharing Sale-a-bration with me.
WMLotusMelonMambo-001

The Lotus Blossom set featured is one of those amazing SAB sets that you can earn for FREE with a $60 order, before shipping and taxes. Isn’t it beautiful?

I softened the lines of the stamp set by stamping it first on watercolour paper and then using an Aquapainter filled with water. The aquapainter acts like a paint brush and the ink bleeds/blends together creating a soft watercolour effect. The more you use the aquapainter the softer the lines become. Tip: Stop blending when you achieve the desired softness.  There is a fine line between the watercoloured effect and a blurry mess.  🙂

Happy Sale-a-bration to you all.  Enjoy the last few weeks of this amazing promotion and snap up those terrific freebies that Stampin’ Up spoils us with.

Thanks for letting me share with you!

Leadership – Swap 2

Posted On: 29. 01. 15

WMSwap1-001I am here, Leadership 2015! I am having a blast and sharing my second swap with you.  This card features the Sale-a-bration stamp set, Big Day, that you can earn for FREE when you place a $60 (before shipping and tax) order with me.

I love designer series paper when I am crafting in a time crunch.  These mini papers are 4.5″ x 6.5″, which is great for scrapbook layering 4″ x 6″ pictures. I used papers from the Moonlight Paper Stack for this Celebrate card.  Key colours in this card are Smoky Slate and Blackberry Bliss, plus Blackberry Bliss ribbon.
